First of all, the truck will have a rooftop tent. Because who wants creepy crawlies, or bitey things, at night? We'll also have a camp toilet, and a shower tent, with a propane hot water tank. And for eats, we have a great Coleman roadtrip propane stove. Guess I'd better get to catching some dinner so we can eat good, eh?
We hope to see a lot of really beautiful things we can never see here in Southeast USA when we head out West, like the mountains, desert, and - the whole instigator of this trip - the stars and the milky way. Out in TX you get out of the light pollution which we have here, and can see it with the naked eye. We really want to see and do all the things we can. With Mr. G battling cancer, we want to make sure that we enjoy life while we can, since tomorrow is never promised. There are too many memories that still need to be made. Miss G is just 12 and these are memories that she will remember for a lifetime.
I also just got a new mountain bike, for the first time in forever. This will give us something else to do for fun while we're out there.
Right now the hardest part is waiting for things to arrive from Amazon, and for the truck rack and rooftop tent to be ready so we can get them installed. More to come, as things shape up.
